Education 🎓

Ms. Bernice Nkrumah-Boadu began her educational journey at Wesley Girls’ High School, completing a Business program from 2011 to 2014.  She then pursued higher education at the University of Cape Coast, obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from 2015 to 2019. During this time, she developed a strong foundation in financial and managerial accounting. Her academic pursuit continued with a Master of Commerce (Finance) at the same university, from 2021 to 2022, where she deepened her understanding of finance-related concepts, including financial markets, risk management, and corporate finance. 🏛️ She has also undertaken professional education, earning her qualification as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (2019-2020), and currently advancing her expertise in taxation at the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana, for which she will become a qualified Associate Member in 2024.  Her education reflects a blend of academic excellence and professional qualifications.

Experience👩‍🏫

Ms. Bernice Nkrumah-Boadu has been actively involved in academia since 2019, starting as a Tutor for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Business Programmes at the College of Distance Education, University of Cape Coast. Her responsibilities include teaching, invigilating exams, and marking scripts. 📜 In 2024, she advanced to the role of Graduate Assistant in the Department of Finance, School of Business, where she assists with teaching and research duties.  In addition to her academic responsibilities, she completed her National Service in the Department of Accounting at the School of Business, University of Cape Coast, from 2019 to 2020. 🏛️ She also gained practical industry experience as an intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ghana, in July 2019, where she was exposed to the world of professional accounting and auditing. 🌍 Her experiences reflect a solid blend of academic roles and professional exposure in the field of accounting and finance.

Ms. Bernice Nkrumah-Boadu ’s research interests lie at the intersection of taxation and finance, focusing particularly on tax reliefs, employment income taxation, and business income taxation. 🧮 She is also interested in examining the impact of policy uncertainty on financial markets, exploring how changing government policies affect business decisions and economic stability. 📊 Additionally, her research extends to the study of financial risk, looking at both theoretical frameworks and practical applications within businesses. 💼 Her goal is to contribute valuable insights into how taxation systems can be optimized for both governments and taxpayers, with a particular focus on how tax incentives can drive business growth and economic development. 📈 Through her academic work and research, she aims to influence policy-making decisions, contributing to a better understanding of how tax structures interact with the broader financial market environment.
