Mrs. Mary Viterouli, University of Thessaly, Greece

Mrs. Mary Viterouli is a distinguished Greek sociologist, educator, and business administrator with extensive academic and professional credentials. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Social Sciences & English Literature from The Open University (UK) and in Business Administration from the Hellenic Open University, alongside three master’s degrees (MBA, MA.Ed., and MSc in Statistics) and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Thessaly, focusing on Human Resource Management and Adult Education. Fluent in English, Greek, German, and Italian, Mary has taught English, business, and IT across multiple institutions and has served as Deputy Director at the Vocational Training Institute of DYPA. She has participated in several EU-funded research projects, authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, and published educational books on English grammar and teaching. Her research interests include HRM, leadership, adult education, well-being, sustainability, and tourism. Mrs. Mary Viterouli is a distinguished academic and professional with a diverse educational background spanning language, business, and social sciences. She graduated from the 2nd General High School of Chalkida in 1994 and went on to earn multiple certifications, including TEFL Methodology and a diploma in Commerce, Advertisement, and Product Promotion. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees: a BSc/BAEng in Social Sciences and English Literature from The Open University of Great Britain, and a BBA in Management and Business Administration from the Hellenic Open University. Her postgraduate education includes an MBA with a thesis on Procter & Gamble’s market share strategies and an MA.Ed. in Applied Pedagogics focusing on adult education and professional training. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Statistics and Data Analysis at the University of the Aegean and a PhD at the University of Thessaly, investigating the interplay between HRM and organizational performance within Greek public employment services. Her research interests include management, leadership, HRM, adult education, marketing, and well-being.

Her computer proficiency began with certification in Windows, Word, Excel, and DOS in 1995, followed by the ECDL Core Certification in 2004, covering IT fundamentals and key Microsoft Office applications. She is also skilled in Steinberg, Photoshop, CorelDraw, and other software. Her pedagogical training includes accredited certificates in Adult Education and Professional Training (2017), with focus areas such as team dynamics, learning theories, teaching techniques, and project-based learning. In 2018, she completed professional development on apprenticeship programs, career counseling, and modern vocational education methods. She completed an internship at the Agricultural Bank of Chalkida and later contributed as a volunteer researcher for Erasmus mobility programs at the Institute of Sustainable Development and Citizen Health. In public service, she held positions as Administrative-Economic Officer at TOMY Vasiliko, Employment Advisor at DYPA, and currently serves as Deputy Director at the Vocational Training Institute of D.YP.A Chalkida. Her teaching experience is equally diverse, having taught English, IT, and administrative subjects at numerous institutions such as EVROGNOSI, AXON, Carierra, and several VET schools.
