He is particularly focused on improving patient care through innovative pharmacy practices and has contributed to several projects on community health and clinical pharmacy education.

Professional Experience

Dr. Palanisamy Sivanandy has over 17 years of teaching experience, with 11 years post-Ph.D. He is currently the Programme Director for the Master in Pharmacy Practice Programme at the International Medical University (IMU) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he has served since August 2021. He has held various academic roles at IMU, including Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, teaching courses in health care ethics, evidence-based pharmacotherapy, and complementary and alternative medicine.

Prior to his tenure at IMU, Dr. Sivanandy was an Assistant Professor at KMCH College of Pharmacy in Coimbatore, India (2014-2021), where he taught clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapeutics, and hospital pharmacy. He began his academic career as a Lecturer at Grace College of Pharmacy (2007-2008) and has since contributed significantly to pharmacy education in both India and Malaysia.
