Dr. Oyesigye’s professional experience is both extensive and varied, showcasing his expertise in agricultural sciences and climate resilience. At Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), he has played a pivotal role in securing grants, developing livelihood innovations, and contributing to curriculum development while supervising numerous undergraduate and MSc dissertations. His career includes significant roles such as Agriculture Inspector at the Ministry of Agriculture, where he oversaw park house certifications, managed agronomists, and trained dealers on chemical residue management. As a Climate Resilience Officer at Self Help Africa (SHA), he led staff training on climate adaptation, managed regional teams, and contributed to grant writing and project management. At MTK Uganda, he enhanced sales performance and compliance through innovative tools and applications. His work as a Research Consultant at Bioversity International Uganda involved managing banana farming projects and publishing research findings, while his tenure as a Research Fellow at Instituto de Investigação Agrária de Moçambique saw him conducting soil tests, designing experimental fields, and developing seed monitoring platforms. Throughout his career, Dr. Oyesigye has effectively managed large teams, developed monitoring tools, and contributed to international research publications.
Dr. Oyesigye holds a Ph.D. in Agri-food and Environment from Cranfield University, UK (2021-2024). He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute (2019-2021), an MSc in Crop Science from Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique (2015-2016), and a BSc in Agricultural Sciences from Makerere University, Uganda (2009-2013). His foundational education includes UACE-PCB/Agric from Valley College, Bushenyi (2006-2008), and the Uganda Certificate of Education from Kizinda Parents High School (2003-2006).

Dr. Oyesigye’s research interests focus on climate change adaptation, agricultural livelihoods, and innovations in sustainable agricultural practices. He is particularly interested in developing and implementing climate-smart agricultural strategies, enhancing food security through innovative farming techniques, and improving rural livelihoods through sustainable agricultural practices.
