Dr. Bátorová earned her MD and PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava. She trained in Internal Medicine and later specialized in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine through the University Hospital and the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine. Her postgraduate training included prestigious fellowships at the National Hemophilia Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel, and the New York Blood Center, USA. Prof. Bátorová is the Head of the Department of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine and Director of the National Hemophilia Centre at University Hospital Bratislava. She is a professor of Internal Medicine at Comenius University and serves as the Chief Expert for Hematology for the Slovak Ministry of Health. Her leadership transformed Slovakia’s hemophilia care, including establishing national registries and developing clinical protocols. She has led numerous working groups, participated in international research consortia, and contributed to global medical guidelines. In 1996, Dr. Bátorová received the prestigious award from the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) for her significant contributions to improving hemophilia care in Slovakia. She served as a past Executive Committee member of the WFH and as a member of the Medical Advisory Group of the European Hemophilia Consortium. She is also a former President of the Slovak Society of Hematology. Her ongoing leadership roles include Chair of the Slovak Hemophilia Working Group and active membership in EAHAD.
