Mr. Marwa Kesanta is an Assistant Lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), teaching economics courses under the Department of Economics and Statistics, and is currently pursuing PhD studies. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from Mzumbe University and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). With over nineteen years of public service experience, he has held key positions including Head of the Extension and Outreach Department at the Institute of Co-operative Continuing Education (ICCE) since 2020, Coordinator of the Co-operative Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (CEIC) from 2019 to 2020, and acting Assistant Registrar (Head of Financial Co-operatives Regulatory Section) at the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission. He has actively contributed to national and international consultancy projects, strengthening SACCOS, microfinance initiatives, rural financial services strategies, and financial consumer protection. Mr. Marwa Kesanta is a member of the Tanzania Cooperative Education Committee and has conducted extensive research, teaching, and consultancy in co-operatives, governance, entrepreneurship, investment, microfinance, cooperative legislation, and member-based policy formulation, including capacity building under the Hand in Hand Project in Kilimanjaro and Arusha regions.
